Key differences between a certified reporter and a recording-only workflow.
A certified court reporter creates a contemporaneous record, can clarify speakers and terminology, may provide realtime text, and produces a certified transcript. Recording technology can support a proceeding, but the appropriate method depends on the court, jurisdiction, stipulation, and needs of counsel.
For most assignments, provide the date, time, jurisdiction, format, location, expected duration, case caption, witness information, delivery deadline, and any realtime, video, remote, or language-service requirements.
